I'm on YouTube?

Hi guys! Long time no speak! I could ramble on for 10 minutes about why I haven't blogged in an absolute age but I won't bore you with the 'life got too busy' spiel haha! I decided to start a YouTube channel. I've wanted to do this for SO long but I've never had the courage to actually upload a video but I've decided sod it, who cares if I look a bit funny! I absolutely loved filming this and can't wait to film my next one in the morning! Pop on over if you want and have a look at my first attempt! I will no doubt cringe watching this in a few years time haha! Thanks for reading as always! xx

L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Collection Privée Lipstick - Doutzen ♡

Hi guys! Here I am with my first beauty post of 2014, I'm so excited to write this haha! Please excuse the photos, I used my phone to take them. My blogging camera is at home and I really, really, wanted to blog today so I hope you don't mind!

Oh, Hello!

I think this may be my first ever lipstick post! Or maybe it isn't... I'm not sure but, I'm not usually one for lipsticks, I can never find a shade to suit my super pale complexion so I generally stick with lip balms! I wish I could don a pink lip when the sun comes out or a berry shade in autumn but they really just do not suit me... le sigh. I am however, always on the hunt for a good nude lipstick, isn't everyone? I was in boots the other day when my mom and I spotted the L'Oréal Collection Privée lipsticks. I instantly picked up Cheryl's one, who doesn't want to look like Cheryl Cole? Am I right? But it was far too dark for me, my mom however loved the Cheryl shade, she's got darker skin than I have (so jealous!). I picked up Doutzen's shade and literally gasped at how perfect it was!

Firstly, lets discuss the packaging. The matt black exterior, which resembles that of a NARS product, is teamed perfectly with gold hardware. Very Chanel-esque if you ask me! This looks very sleek, both my mom and I said how we wouldn't mind using this lipstick in public because it's so pretty!

Doutzen's nude is a beautiful baby pink, it almost reminds me of hue by MAC! I find hue to be far too opaque, it ends up making me look like I have no lips at all! This lipstick however, adds a sheer wash of colour to your lips making you look that little bit more put together. It has a nice glossy finish, but nothing too crazy. It's super moisturising and leaves your lips feeling hydrated all day! With regard to taste, it tastes of parma violets, I'm not talking a hint of parma violet, it full on tastes like your eating them when you have this on haha! I like parma violets so that's not a problem for me but if you don't you might want to steer clear haha!

One of these lipsticks will set you back €11.99 so they're not the cheapest but I think it's definitely worth it! I decided to add pictures of me wearing the lipstick in this post, I don't often include pictures of myself but I thought it was kind of necessary to show pictures for a lipstick review! Again, excuse the quality, my Samsung tried it's best haha!

Have you tried any of this collection? Let me know what your favourite shade is!

Thanks for reading!

Hi guys! Remember me? haha I'm writing a blog post... FINALLY!

(Haha I saw this picture on Facebook and it made me laugh!)

I have been such a crappy blogger and I wouldn't blame you if you've moved on to reading bigger and better blogs who are consistent. That is something that I definitely need to work on, I think my last post was in August... YIKES! The minute I started back at university it was like my brain couldn't handle coursework and a blog so I chose coursework and neglected my little slice of the interwebs! I do apologise, I have missed blogging so much, the excitement when I hit publish on a new post, taking part in bblogger chats, responding to comments, I've missed it all! I wasn't going to start blogging again until after my final exams in May, so that I could give it my undivided attention, but I had the urge to blog today so I just went with it! I hadn't planned on doing an update post but I think 'Hi guys sorry I've not blogged in ages but here's a lipstick review' is a bit abrupt (wrong word but you get me) haha I need to chat for a moment!

Firstly, I reached 100 GFC followers and I'm almost at 80 Bloglovin' followers... say whaaat? I never thought I'd get to 10 not to mind 100! Thank you lovely lot for hitting that follow button, although I've been MIA for what seems like forever, every time I got an email saying someone started following my little blog it made me a bit giddy! So, THANK YOU! :)

I am now in my last semester of final year, it's stressful I'm not gonna lie but the end is in sight so I will try to plough through all the assignments and exams *sob*. I'm about to apply for postgraduate courses, yes I'm actually planning on staying in education. Am I mad? Quite possibly yes. I was going to do the whole year out thing but I don't like the idea of wasting a year of my precious life... haha! I'm thinking of doing applied psychology and guidance counselling... but I'm not too sure yet! Advice is welcome people!

I have not lost my penchant for all things beauty don't worry! However there is a slight cash flow problem so bare with me, student life is hard! I don't have a job at the moment so my idea of treating myself is a new nail polish every now and then, something very small haha! You'd think I'd be saving money by not buying all the beauty products in boots... but I'm not, how unfair is that?

I'm at university Monday-Thursday and I have Friday's off, so I'm hoping that when I'm not bombarded with assignments I can blog on a Friday! I can't promise consistency but I will do my very best :)

If you're still following my blog thank you so much! I really do appreciate it!

As always, thank you so much for reading! I'll be back very soon with a new beauty post!

Nails of the Week | ♡

Hi guys! Today I'm talking pastel nail polishes. I absolutely love pastel nail polishes for the summer so I've decided to share with you my favourites.

Lovely Lilac;
First up is my absolute favourite, Topshop's Parma Violet. I love this shade of lilac, it's the perfect lilac in my opinion! It's also really opaque which is a huge bonus in my books! Pastel's are all the rage these days and I feel like I've found my favourite!

Pretty in Pink;
I've chosen Essie's Muchi Muchi today. Although I did say I was really disappointed by this in my last post I absolutely love the colour in the bottle. I've decided to try it again with a white nail polish underneath and it has turned out so much better. Adding the white polish made it so much more opaque. This takes me a lot longer to apply but it's definitely worth it in the end! Such a pretty colour.

A Hint of Sparkle;
After having colour on my nails for the past few days I've gone for a white base today. I got my inspiration for this look from a picture LLY MLRS posted on instagram. I loved the idea of having an ombré glitter effect on white nail polish. I used a Rimmel white polish and a Barry M pink glitter polish. Mine didn't work out great but hey, I tried haha!

Mint Madness;
Today I have gone for Mabelline's 'Mint for Life'. This has been on of my favourites for the summer. It's so opaque, you only need two coats! I have added a bit of sparkle to the ring finger, this looked a lot nicer in person, it didn't photograph well at all.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what nail polishes I'm loving at the moment! I love doing my nails and very rarely go without painting them. I'd love to know what nail polish you have been loving this summer, I'm always looking to expand my collection haha!

Thanks so much for reading :)

Sally's Salon Services | Mini Haul ♡

Hi guys! So this weekend when I was in Birmingham visiting my cousins we went into Redditch shopping. I've been shopping there countless times this summer but it was only on this trip I spotted this shop called 'Sallys'. This instantly reminded me of the American shop 'Sally's beauty supplies' at least I think that's what it's called! I convinced my cousin to let me go in (she knew I was going to be more than five minutes!) and I instantly spotted China Glaze, OPI and loads of other brands, I was too excited!

I was having a look at all the different bits and bobs and I spotted this, 'It's a 10 miracle leave in product'. I've used this before and ran out about two months ago and just never got around to buying another bottle. I bought mine on Amazon and it ended up being around £20 including postage so when I saw it in this shop for £11.46 I decided to stock up! I absolutely love this stuff, it's a leave in conditioner and a heat protectant so I don't have to use any extra products on my hair. I use this just before I dry my hair and it leaves it feeling so soft and it smells so good!

I also got this China Glaze nail polish in 'Loves a beach' this is the most neon pink I have ever seen. My nails literally glow in the dark haha! The picture of the bottle looks like a really standard coral/orange colour, it's definitely neon pink, it's just so bright my camera couldn't deal! When I applied this it seemed to have a matte finish which I'm not a fan of at all so I put some seche vite on it and it looked fine again! I can imagine this colour looking really nice with a tan especially on my toes! I wish I had found it sooner as summer is almost over, I'm sure I'll still be wearing this in November though haha!

If you have one of these shops near you I would definitely recommend going in to have a look, they had loads of other brands as well! If you're like me and don't have one anywhere near you, they have a website too! They have loads of brands on there, most of which I have never heard of haha, but if you're after some China Glaze nail polish or if you've been trying to get your hands on It's a 10 products this is definitely the place to go!

Thanks for reading! :)

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo | Review ♡

Hi guys! I've got a bit of a review for you today. I mentioned this product in my last post and decided it was just too good not to dedicate a whole post to it so here we have it, my thoughts on La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo!

Again, I'm so late to the party with this one but I had to do a blog post on it because it's just that good. I feel like I always have a bit of a story to tell and today is no different... Sorry guys haha! This all started when I got the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant in my April glossybox, I was so excited to use this because I thought it had a similar concept to Alpha H Liquid Gold. I used it once and thought it was really good. It made my skin lovely and smooth without it being an abrasive exfoliator. However, a few days after using it my forehead literally freaked out. I had loads and loads of tiny red bumps all over my forehead starting from my temples all the way across my forehead. They weren't actual spots they were little red ones that almost burned when I touched them? Weirdest thing ever, I am aware. I had heard that effaclar duo is really good at unclogging pores and giving you smooth skin. I decided to give it a try as I was desperate to get rid of the situation on my forehead!

I used this a few nights in a row and it completely sorted it out, it didn't even take a week! It even got rid of any other breakouts I had on my face. I use this every morning and evening after I apply my moisturiser. I put a pea sized amount on my finger and apply it mainly to my t-zone. I have noticed a massive difference in my skin, I don't have half as many little bumps around my nose. My make up goes so much smoother as well! If I don't use this I will notice the next day that my nose will be dry and my make up will sit in the dry patches... Ew!

I absolutely love this product, I will definitely be repurchasing it when it runs out. I know this product is raved about by everyone and their mother but I've only just tried it so I thought I'd give my two cents! I'd definitely recommend it if you have some problem areas on your face. I bought mine in boots for around £13-£14 I can't exactly remember!

Have any of you tried this product? Or anything else form La Roche Posay, I'm definitely going to be checking out some of their other skincare bits!

Night time Routine ♡

Hi guys! I've decided to share my night time routine with you today, I'm always intrigued to see what other people use so here's what I trowel on on an evening...

Firstly I like to get my hair out of my face. There's nothing worse than washing your face and all of a sudden your whole hair is in the sink. I use my headband from primark which does the job just fine! I also tie my hair up in a bun. This is usually when I do the best bun ever and it annoys me so much. I can never do a bun when I need to!

Right after I've got my hair out of my face I like to use my Liz Earle cleanse and polish. This was hugely popular about a year and a half ago but the hype has definitely died down a lot. I still absolutely love this cleanser. I don't have particularly spot prone skin but it keeps my skin clear and super soft, I think this is all down to the muslin cloth!

When I've finished getting all my make up off I like to go in with a little bit of a more abrasive face scrub. Now, don't get me wrong this is still extremely gentle but it leaves my skin feeling really soft. I like to use this once or twice a week.

Next up is my Lush face mask. I absolutely love this! This leaves my skin looking so fresh and radiant. I also like the fact that it's green haha!

Next I use my Nivea nightime moisturiser. I love this because it sinks in really quickly. I don't like the feeling of really thick creams on my face. I used to have some dry areas around my nose but this has totally got rid of it!

I know, I know, I'm 19 why am I using anti-aging products? Well, it's never too early to start in my opinion. Especially with the eye area, I feel like I pull at my eyes a lot so I want to make sure I don't have wrinkles before my time haha!

Then I like to go in with my La Roche Posay effaclar duo. I cannot stress how amazing this is! I think it needs a whole blog post, it's that good! I put this on problem areas and it keeps my skin so clear!

Finally I like to use Korres Lip butter in jasmine. I get really dry lips so I make sure to use a lip butter every night. This is my favourite one of the moment.

Gosh that all seems a bit extensive, haha! I know a lot of other people use twice the amount that I do, but this is still a lot of products for me. I literally used to just take my make up off and moisturise. I've gotten so much better at minding my skin. It has taken me so long to find my own little routine that works for me, it just takes time finding what works for your skin type!

Here's a rather dashing picture of me rocking the 'green monster' look in my lush face mask haha!

I hope you enjoyed reading! I'm really getting back into the swing of blogging after my little break!

Is there anything I'm missing from my night time routine? Let me know! :)
